The State of Alabama requires a license to practice applied behavior analysis (ABA). Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts providing services in Alabama should complete the application process as described in the instructions available below. A license is not required for Registered Behavior Technicians.
Become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Before you can become licensed, you need to have an active certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®). This certification requires a college degree, specific coursework, supervision, and successful completion of the certification exam. For more information, please visit BACB®’s website at www.bacb.com.
COVID-19 Guidance
The Board does not have specific guidelines for how to provide services under the COVID-19 pandemic, but we expect all licensees to adhere to the Governor's current orders and CDC guidelines to help ensure the safety of our clients as is required by our ethical code.
